This depiction of Mickey is a pop art interpretation of James Ensor's satirical and sometimes grotesque work. She uses the typical Ensor masks to show the hidden personality that lies beneath Mickey.

Like the master himself, this work is a play of light and vibrant color, revealing a hidden personality with a macabre background. As you can see from the real mouth and the blood on his jacket. Inspiration also came from that other macabre figure from the Joker movie... behind a mask lies a different identity, a different social status.

It is a surreal representation of a figure that brings joy, with the sense of masks described by Carl Gustav Jung as the represented status of our inner self.
