At Le Paige Castle in Herentals, artist Carlo van Tichelen unveiled his intriguing creations in the exhibition Artificial, where artificial intelligence and art met in an unprecedented interplay. This exhibition produced works that challenged the imagination and pushed the boundaries of traditional artistic expression.
His most notable pieces were like an encounter between the unexpected and the familiar, with Mickey Mouse having an informal conversation at the counter of the legendary Silver Tree café, the Woman of Wijck from Noorderwijk taking shape alongside Jesus of Nazareth, and Romeo and Juliet getting a modern reinterpretation. Although a similar art form had already been exhibited in America, this exhibition in Herentals marked the first such creations in Belgium.
Artificially opened the gateway to a new dimension in the art world, where the computer acted as an artist, guided by the thoughts and ways of thinking of Carlo van Tichelen himself. The exhibition highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence in art and explored the limits of what is possible when human creativity goes hand in hand with technological ingenuity.
Carlo strongly believes in the role of artificial intelligence in the future of art and Artificial was a preview of the possibilities that this technology can offer. With a mix of wonder and curiosity, the exhibition offered a glimpse into a future where art and technology intertwine in an unprecedented form of expression.
